On behalf of the Georgia Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (GAHPERD), I want to welcome you to our website. It is our hope that we can provide a useful resource for you to visit often and encourage you to join us in "Pulling Our Weight in 2008."

By joining GAHPERD, individuals are afforded the opportunity to network with one another, receive in-service training from some of the most knowledgeable and talented educators in the nation, share ideas and seek answers to the challenges facing teachers and students in schools. We need each other and we need YOU. GAHPERD can help you grow as an educator and make friends with folks who share common concerns. Our students deserve the best. We simply want to help you be the best! Please join us. There is strength in numbers.

We are working toward:

• Legislation to place a coordinator in the state department for health and physical education (we came so close in 2006!)
• Mandated minutes for K-12 Physical Education
