Our most important goal is to provide service to our members and potential members. This website has information and/or forms for new or renewal membership, convention, nominations for office, awards, publications, and other areas of interest.

You may join or re-new your membership online and pre-register for the annual Summer Teachers’ Institute and the annual Convention online. After completing the appropriate form with the required information, you will be directed to a secure website to also pay online.

GAHPERD participates in the AAHPERD Teachers of the Year Award program. Additionally, we recognize outstanding professionals, student members and programs. GAHPERD conducts an annual Convention in the fall, the Summer Teachers’ Institute in early summer and regional workshops in the spring, for professional development and PLU credit. We publish four issues of The GAME (newsletter) and three issues of the JOURNAL per year.

GAHPERD awards student scholarships, faculty research grants, Jump Rope For Heart and Hoops For Heart grants and Workshop grants. We recognize outstanding student majors’ clubs and outstanding professionals. There are many benefits to being a member of GAHPERD.
