The Dance Division of GAHPERD is committed to advocating quality dance education in the state of Georgia. We intend to do this by having state dance educators share their expertise, bringing in well-known artists, and presenting high quality performances at conferences. We strive to serve all dance educators in our state, K-12, college and university, and private studios. Current Dance Division board members are:

Dance Enthusiasts!!

As the Dance VP for GAHPERD, I would like to encourage you to consider planning ahead for our annual GAHPERD conference that will be held in Savannah, GA in November. The VP Dance-Elect, Amy Howton and I will be working diligently to inform many educators in our state about the need for dance in our education programs and the benefits offered through dance. It is imperative that you know how much of an impact you have on your students. Because dance teaches a lifetime of lessons, your students would not be where they are today if you didn’t take the time to share your passion with them! Thank you!  

I would like to ask you to continue to share your love for dance with people from all over the state. With your help, GAHPERD can open many doors for many people into the world of dance. Help make the start of this new decade a “Decade for Dance.” Please begin preparing yourself and your students for our Kaleidoscope performance. Also, we would love to have you come and present a dance session to hundreds of interested educators. Details for Kaleidoscope and sessions will be sent out to you soon! 

 We need your help to get the message to your students. Please encourage them to join GAHPERD and attend the conference in November. We are also interested in holding a student choreography section in our Kaleidoscope presentation. This will be an incredible learning experience for young dancers and upcoming choreographers.
